Issaquah Arts Network
Before starting Issaquah Arts we heard over and over that people find it hard to find other creatives and network in Issaquah. It’s not that the network doesn’t exist - there simply wasn’t an easy place to engage.
As a first (virtual) step to surface this network, we started the Issaquah Arts Network Group on LinkedIn.
We have this incredible number of artists and creatives here in Issaquah, and sometimes they can feel isolated. We are starting to build the networks to connect creatives so they have that networking piece — that magic that happens when you get artists in the room — and they have some technical support.
Juliana da Cruz, City of Issaquah Economic Development Coordinator
Our network is built around a shared interest in supporting more art in Issaquah. And with a warmer path to reach out and get involved, doors can open for more places to make art, experience art, and come together as a creative community.
The platform selection was intentional: a well known, established setting designed to support connectivity and professional networking.
The only requirement to join? A relationship to Issaquah (live in, work in, volunteer in, etc), and an interest in the local arts. As the group grows, it becomes easier to see the many ways we are connected, whether through the group, shared connections with people, or mutual relationships to businesses and organizations.
